Black Soul Stealer

Some years ago I was writing a book about Unexplained events, and unfortunately many of the letters to me were later lost.
In any case, whilst working on the book I recieved an interesting letter from a Queensland woman wanting my help.
I had not heard about the phenomena she related to me and I still do not know a great deal more.
I'll briefly relate her experience and what happened after.
She claimed that whilst staying at a close friends house she was awakened during the night by a large black 'shadow' type thing.
The room was partially lit by street light coming in through the windows so she could see the dark shape moving toward her.
It was like a large human shadow minus the human that should have been attached to it.
It seemed to be an evil entity which moved closer and closer til it was looming almost over her. The feeling of dread and terror was overwhelming and she fled from the room.
She felt sure it had come to steal her soul.
She had the same experience again the next night and then refused to stay with her friend again. Her friend claimed that another friend had had a similar experience in the same room and also refused to stay there again.

I pondered this account for some time and briefly wondered if it wasn't 'made up'. However some weeks later I made brief reference to the account to a personal friend, a christian woman, and had barely told her anything before she reacted with horror and began to recount her OWN experience, which was very, very similar to the first one.
I was amazed that before the first letter I had studied and written about paranormal events for many years and yet I had never heard of a 'Shadow Soul Stealer' before and now I had two in the space of a few weeks.
Both women were very firm in their belief that the dark shadow had come to steal their souls.
Even now, many years later, I have only heard of about three such accounts, nor have I ever read anything about it.
